Cal/OSHA raises early concern on heat illness

Cal/OSHA, which is considered a bellwether state OSHA plan, is urging employers with outdoor workers to prepare for high heat -- an issue on which federal OSHA has consistently focused. The state program cites National Climatic Data Center, which reported that 2014 was the hottest calendar year on record since 1895 in California, and Cal/OSHA notes that the center has already recorded similarly record-breaking temperatures over the last two months.
