House Labor approps bill cuts OSHA funding

The 2016 Labor spending bill to be marked up by the House Appropriations Committee Wednesday (June 24) would reduce OSHA funding for next year -- the opposite of President Obama's plan to beef up the agency. The Republican-proposed funding cut would put a strain on OSHA resources as the agency struggles to finish several key rulemaking and enforcement initiatives in the last years of Obama's tenure.
