Research project details more than 1,000 workplace deaths through July this year

A database developed in a coordinated research effort among several activist groups has identified information on more than 1,000 workplace deaths in the United States during the first seven months of 2015, as the project's organizers use the data to call for stronger safety and health protections, including more criminal prosecutions in egregious cases.
